I Am Popular
WOW! Some local people decided to use my design. She saw my stuff at a craft fair and thought that my designs were so great that she should do similar. Let me feature her. Here they are!
Can you tell me which ones are mine? I am sure you can my dear friends!

Everyone gets inspired by others, a little, but really trying to make the same is a horrible thing to do.

Well...yours are the better made ones!! This is what happens when someone try to copy someone else's work...very sad, but it's karma! I'm sure she'll get the fact now!

I won't take as a compliment, is a crime and very cruel to steal someone hard work and copy it!

Hi Zsuzsi!
Yesterday I received a letter from you, where you blamed me with plagiarism. I felt shocked and disappointed, but I braced myself up and answered in a friendly tone, because I thought you wrote emotionally upset without looking up facts and details. But you also put up your innuendo and "evidences" on your blog without waiting for an answer. And when you got the answer, you just ignored it. That is defamation! (even though my name is not present)
Here are the facts (what I have already written to you):
I am crafting and selling fused glass jewelry for more than two years now. I am making those millefiori style earrings from the beginning. Had you ever looked it up, you could have seen it on my web site or among my Etsy sold outs (last autumn). I have been also crafting "rectangular" jewelry for almost two years, even tough I came up with the latest, spring color, three-level series this march.
You have appeared on Etsy with fused glass some months ago. As you are Hungarian I have checked your work and even chosen some of them into Treasury. We do meet in your craft fair, but I would have been unable to take a closer look at your items (even if I wanted to), because I had kids to look after. It sounds ridiculous that I copied something from there. At that time I was already ready for my April's craft fair, which still lasts.
And here are some opinions:
I have never thought that a basic design like for example "my" small millefiori earrings would be my exclusive discovery/property. Nor that I should take action against who make similar ones later.
Likewise you are not the only one (or even the first one), who make fused glass rings with two or three rectangular glass pieces. Even on Etsy there are at least three similar designs, with slightly different presentation (fusing technique). Also, as we both work with the very limited glass selection available in Hungary, it is very possible that certain picks from our jewelry have similar colors.
And finally, I feel creative and successful enough, I don't need to copy other artists' work.
This is the translation of the 2nd letter I wrote to you. I put it up onto your blog, my site and posted it on European Etsy Street Team mailing list as well.
With that said, I require a public apology and after that, we should remove this whole topic from our sites.
